Life, currently, is hard to comprehend; it's an unusual time. I'm at a bit of a loss and not my usual self. However, I still manage to tilt my head to the side in these photo's. I've also been expanding my creative horizons and writing verses that i like to think of as poetry. I'm not sure if it's any good but at least I have an outlet for all of the craziness going on in my mind. Here is the newest one:
Grief
I wish I could hide behind tinted glass, avoid the stolen glances.
Though it seems as though all light is directed on me.
My face is streaked red, my sorrow so clear for everyone.
I want to hide it away, I don't want people knowing.
These feelings are private, but tears parade them to the world.
I am grieving, this pain so clear.
This my friends, is what I wore yesterday whilst going about my daily business and then going to the fake city beach, more commonly know as South Bank. The top is a reoccurring one from General Pants, the skirt I purchased from Urban Outfitters and the thongs are just a pair of Havaianas. Enjoy.

Frock it.
I watched you exhale, my heart would stop.
You then inhaled.
I watched you exhale, my heart would stop.
Again, you then inhaled.
I spent the night by your side,
holding your hand.
We knew our time with you was drawing to a close.
Your breathing became more withered,
the pace slowing down.
We waited for your time to come,
for you to be lifted up.
I watched you exhale,
my heart stopped; so had yours.
Grandad. may you forever rest in piece.
I wrote that for my Grandfather, Tom, who was taken home in the early hours of yesterday morning.
I went for a surprise adventure with some lovely friends yesterday. We went to a secret forest and had a picnic for lunch, it was a nice, peaceful afternoon. The requirements I had were to wear inclosed shoes and to bring a camera. This is the look that transpired. I was under the pretense that we were going for coffee so I assumed a dress would be fine... it was alright but meant I was unable to swing from the tree tops.
The jumper is one I bought a couple of sizes too big from Jay Jays. My dress was one I just throw on for a casual look, from Dotti. The bag is Cotton On, and of course, these fabulous shoes are my Docs. I got them for a pretty good price when in New York!

I've got the funk.
I've noticed that in these photo's of myself, I apparently tip my head to the side; it's slightly so evident in this picture as well. It's a subconscious thing I do... maybe I think I look better on the side... who knows. I can assure you though, that it is not some condition and on normal occasions my head is ever so straight.
Despite slogging it at work and some hectic storms, i've had an enjoyable past 30 hours or so. I've put together some words to creatively describe how I spent yesterday evening, with my lovely friend Savannah. I guess you could call it a poem or sorts. Here it goes.
We've Got the Funk
The lights are dimmed,
We take sides of the room.
The music bounces off the walls,
Our bodies react...and so it begins.
We thrash to and fro,
our moves most awkward.
Your figure is hardly visible,
though your presence is large by my side.
We do not criticise,
We do not judge.
We've got the funk,
and it's all so fine.
The above outfit I am wearing my high waisted shorts, which I purchased in New York from American Apparel; they are the shortest anything that I own. The top is the second one I bought, mentioned in a previous post, from General Pants Co. I decided to tie it at the front with a hair band as its normal length made it finish roughly an inch above my shorts, and people could potentially believe I decided to go pantless otherwise.

Delightful.
Today was a rather long and busy day. I am thankful that tomorrow I get to sleep in as I have an evening shift at work. My job is at a takeaway fish and chip shop. I serve people, I make their food, I clean and I touch gross stuff... that's how I make my money... to then go out and spend it on socks and shoes.
This evening my 4 and 5 year old cousins had their dance recital at the Playhouse theatre [yes, a tad fancy venue for a dance recital]. I went and watched them perform as i'm a delightful family member.
I had a different outfit in mind to wear but it did not come together as hoped, the only constant is the shoes. They were a new purchase earlier this week from Novo. I wore them for over 6 hours straight, was able to walk normally and only had a tiny bit of soreness at the end of the night... these shoes are AMAZING. The dress was a short black one that has a maxi overlay; It was just a basic Blurr brand dress from Dissh. I thought the outfit looked terribly boring and uninspired so I put the Supre singlet over the top and tied it at the back, just to throw some quirkiness into the mix. The necklace is my favourite, it's designed by Samantha Wills. My dear friend and sister, who i'm not really related to, also owns one, so it's something special we share.

Socks Out.
Hello dear world.
This week has been a queer one, I can't quite figure out what it is but am hopeful it will pass. So, on Monday and Tuesday night I attended the JMC Academy, Third Year Music Recitals. It was beautiful and they were all wonderfully talented! One of the delightful performances was by the amazing Lucinda Johnson. I suggest you hunt down her music immediately.
This is the outfit I wore to the second night of performances. The ensemble was a quick one I threw together. The shoes are a Sportsgirl purchase, the socks were a new impulse purchase from Gorman [I love what they sell but as i'm a poor uni student, it is not a place I am usually able to shop at], the skirt I bought from Zara whilst I was in Germany and the top was one of 2 for $40 from General Pants Co.
Please enjoy my expanding horizons.

Oh hello.
I am officially on uni holidays. That means I have a lot of time on my hands... which I tend to use storing lots of sleeping time for when I suddenly become an insomniac. Anyway, this evening I awoke from my stupor, realising I needed to be somewhere and threw on an outfit. The following was what resulted. Not exactly a fantastic photo, and my hair looks dreadful, but it was a quick look for a dinner with my delightful friends.
The dress I purchased online from Miishka. I'm around 173cm and it was a little shorter than I was anticipating so I always wear it with tights. It's the first maroon coloured item i've owned, I think ever, and it's got a heart cut-out back. The shoes were a purchase from Sportsgirl.

All kinds of lovely.
This is my new yellow dress. I've had it for a week and love that is has pockets. I feel classy in it and everyone else seems to like it too. I bought it at the Gold Coast and managed to get it for $10 cheaper. If you would love a dress like this, buy it here: 'Jess & I' Samantha dress. The headband i'm wearing with it I bought today for $8 from the Finders Keepers Markets. This outfit makes me feel like all kinds of lovely.
Hello, introducing me.
My name is Adelaide and this is the beginning. Basically I will write about things that happen, opinions I have, pictures I like...
To start I will introduce myself. I've just finished my second year of Design. I value good ethics and values. I enjoy photography and love being social. I want to be the best person I can be and to make a difference in the world.
